Welcome!
Welcome to my behavior management website! My name is Abby DeVries and I am currently a Junior at Hope College. I am majoring in Special Education Learning Disabilities and General Education Elementary Composite with a minor in Elementary Mathematics Education. This website was created in preparation for my future classroom to help me remember all that I have learned and to share this information with you!
To me, the most important part of behavior management is building relationships. I believe that when students are exhibiting problem behaviors, there is a reason behind them. As their teacher, I am compelled to find out this reason and to help my students learn from mistakes. The way that I teach and the way that I interact with my students must always be focused on student learning. Once students realize that I truly do care about them, many of the behavior concerns will diminish. Throughout this website, you can find some information and strategies that I have learned about to help me achieve my goals for behavior management in my classroom.
